Crime-Trail Trogen light (crime walk): The Children’s rights case
The case
The Pestalozzi Children’s Foundation was founded in 1946 with the purpose at the time of giving young people and children who had lost their parents in the Second World War a new and protected home. A good 30 years later, on 20 November 1989, the UN adopted the so-called Convention on the Rights of the Child, which sets out the rights of children. This “contract” was signed by many countries. An original signed version was stored in the safe of the Pestalozzi Children’s Foundation. This version is very valuable and could be sold online for a lot of money. One morning the employees discovered that this original document has been stolen from the safe. The police could not find any signs of a break-in or fingerprints on the code-protected safe. However, with the help of a camera installed in the office, the police were able to determine the time the crime took place: 22:00. Unfortunately, the perpetrator, who was wearing a hoodie and gloves during the burglary, could not be identified on camera. The perpetrator must also have known the access code.
